After cooking, wash with a mild soap solution using a soft brush and keep on stove top to maintain it dry; wipe and give it a thin coat of any vegetable oil. Store carefully away from water. If you notice rust (which is highly unlikely in well maintained ones), wash off the rust, apply a healthy coat of oil. Instructions before initial use ------------------------- 1 Wash the pan with warm, soap water using a sponge or stiff brush. 2 Rinse and thoroughly dry the pan with a clean, dry cloth or paper towels. 3 Pour a little vegetable oil (one or two table spoon)or melted shortening into the pan. Vegetable oil and shortening are the most commonly recommended oils used for seasoning. 4Use a clean cloth or paper towel to rub the coat around the entire pan.

5Cut an onion into fine pieces and fry it in the pan with 3-4 spoons of oil for 20-25 minutes and discard the fried onion.. 6 Allow to the iron pan to cool off completely. Once it's cooled, you're good to go! Benefits of cooking in a cast iron vessel: 100% natural, eco-friendly goodness.
